Just select "Edit acount -> Change territory" from the login account, and you can change to the European world.
Better yet, get your European friends to change to the American world. Just tell them that you can find players even in off-hours in remote districts in the American world, and that the WaW areas are open half the time.

GGet your friends to change to the American servers as described above. I'm in the UK and I just did that, there is tons more people to play with and the outposts are never deserted as I thought they would be in euro daytimes.

I heard there was a limit on the amount of times you're able to switch zones.

The limit to switching is 5 times. you may not think that is fair but they must limit it to stop people from switching to the servers with the favor of the gods repeatedly just to go the the fissure or underworld

Can't you just read the thread?
Get your European friends to come to America. They'll be fighting for the wrong side but they'll get to go to UW a lot more.
And into HoH (without Hench team) a lot more, too.

Switching servers is addressing a symptom - the problem still persists. And the problem is that the "Worlds at War" concept DOES suck big time and I don't think there is ANY way to fix this flawed concept. I play during non primetime hours on EU servers (often at 9am GMT). At this time EU servers are pretty much empty (maybe with the exception of Ascalon City..). Also EU never gets favor for long - and it certainly doesn't while I am playing. I have NEVER seen UW despite I am playing GW from day one and have put three PvE characters on Ring of Fire so far. EU just doesn't get favor in my playing time, ever.
Now you say, "just switch to US"...
...well, this would mean I'd play during nighttime in US, thus making my problem probably LARGER, not smaller. US has favor more often, but I still wouldn't find many people to play with at like 3am ET, would I? Also not all of my friends want or could switch to US permanently.
Next part of the problem is that I am in an international guild - we are like 60% EU and 40% USA players. The only way to play with my guild mates is to go to those otherwise completely deserted "International Districts" which more aptly should be named "The Void". Also there is NO way to ever go to UW with my US friends. Well, I can see that obviously A-Net didn't want people to be in international guilds but I prefer playing with my buddies I have known for years (from other games) instead of going to war with them. Thank you very much!
I consider GW one of the most fun and addictive games I ever played, but this region thing just sucks, sucks, sucks. The sooner it's being abandoned, the better for GW! Baseline: Just let people play where other people play at this moment! At least give them the chance to switch regions as often and whenever they want to. If the faction thing prevents that at the moment, so change it!
Sorry for that little rant...

The US servers are never lacking people. We always have people in even the most obscure places at the most obscure times. As long as you arn't trying to play between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM EST people are everywere. The problem is sorting out the idiots.

Yeah, the US servers are always busy. I play from Australia, and I play at all sorts of times, and there are always lots of people around.

That's a bit of a sore point, really. I tried switching to the American world. I've done so twice. It just doesn't feel right; I suppose this is just misguided nationalism, but there was always this nagging feeling that what I was doing just wasn't right. It just wasn't... British. I'm sure many other Europeans would feel the same way about abandoning their homeworld, and if you asked Americans to come to the European server (it's got districts filtered by language, everyone can come here!) they'd feel the same way too.
Edit: It's already been established, however, that nobody likes the Worlds at War idea. The community's general consensus on Worlds at War when it was first announced (correct me if I'm wrong) was that it's a horrible, horrible mistake that encourages dividing players rather than uniting them, racism, and nationalism. It feels good to be right. More of these threads can't hurt, though. Maybe someone at Arena is reading this and thinking, "Durr, maybe we should backpedal on this idea," dragging their knuckles along the ground and drooling all over the keyboard.

Something needs to be done to address the problem of un- and underused servers. If the Euro servers don't get at least a minimum number of people, there's the chance they may be closed.
The problem I see, and I -do- play with European friends, is that people need to stay on their own 'turf'. It's not a racist thing, it's just a practical thing. That's what they're there for, right?

I, and many, don't agree with that reasoning. It was better when it was just International and Korea (Korea seperate just because they use a whole different alphabet, let alone language). There was always lots of people on, no matter what the time. There was no racial divide, everyone generally got along, and I made a lot of friends from all over the world. Not so, now.
Why do us Europeans have to stay on our "own turf", anyway? Scared we'll invade and replace your beefburgers with baguettes? Your Starbucks with Rington's Tea? Your Hawaiian shirts with top hats and monocles?

Oh please, Mumblyfish, be reasonable. It has nothing to do with your second paragraph. I could care less if you're on the American servers or not. However, if Euros don't want them, they're going to be taken away. That actually might not be a bad idea if it would mean AN saving a bit of cash and plugging it into development.
Getting rid of WaW is a good idea and having just International and Asian servers might not be bad either.
Peace, MF. I wasn't trying to upset the crumpet cart, just was stating fact.

Haha, don't take me too seriously, mate. I was only ribbing you, and jokes on The Intertron tend to backfire more often than not. On top of that, I have too much dignity to put "j/k" or that blasted winking smiley at the end of every post.
The crumpet cart is in no danger of being upset. It has stabilisers on. Stiff upper lip, and all that.

Actually, if the increasing number of people moving the US servers would lead to the European servers being closed down and united with the USA servers, that's even a better reason for EU players to move to US. Maybe if the EU servers will end up as deserted as the "International Districts", A-Net will finally see that the WaW idea was the worst idea since the construction of the Babel Tower.
